Fantasizing about more builds

I keep a running list of ideas for builds.  It's really sad right now because I have to save money for this big trip I'm going on with my mom next year, so no new toys for Hannah for at least another year .  That of course means I have more GAS than ever because I know I can't act on it.

- Flat top LP, mahogany sea-foam green body, either P90s or TV Jones pickups, and a custom cut pickguard similar to the Cort Sunset.  It would be extra awesome if it had an f hole, but I don't think I can convince them to put one in an LP.  Goncalo/pau ferro neck.

- This thing has been taunting me for months now.  I really want a brown to clear flame maple LP because of this, but I'd rather have a mahogany body on it since I've already got a BK LP.  I'd do it all vintagey with old timey '59 sounding pups.

- This, but a Jag.  And minus the dumb trem.  I'd put a TOM/stop on there.

- Still want a black dye quilt top SG with a nice trem and some super hot pups.  I would name him Trogdor...

- Still want an L5S.  Not sure exactly how I would want it to look, but I think it would be a clear satin finish over some tasty, tasty wood.

- Padouk firebird! Why?  I don't know!  I just think it would be cool.

- 12 string LPS, because I need a 12 string.

- Several Telecasters.  SEVERAL!

I assure you, when I win the lottery, these things will all be built within a year.  :headbang:

I do the same thing Hannah LOL. I have about five on my list right now, most of which have features that require custom everything :-/

Love that Cort guitar. I'm a Goncalo fan too and my vote is for the TV Jones.

An L-5 with a reduced upper bout - maybe LP sized, maybe in between - would go a long way towards 335/Starcaster/whatever that cort thing is. As long as hollow is an option.

I have three bodies i want but need to figure out all the specs first. I just sold a strat i built because it felt like shite.

I'm planning a Dragonburst (or Tobaccoburst) Korina tele - I can't decide.

:blob7: Ooooh!  Dragon!  Dragon!  Tobacco is really nice, but there aren't that many Dragonbursts out there, and it's a neat finish.

Dragonburst over Zebra... that could be really interesting.  Maybe this is a sign that we're craving waffles...

Hey Hannaugh

If you do a telecaster next and pay for shipping, I'll rout it for a bender for you- gratis.

Thanks Trevor!  I will definitely take you up on that on a solid Tele.  The thinline I want is going to have artwork on the back, so no bender there.  But that sounds like it would be really cool on a standard, and I want one of those too.

If I were to describe my build fantasies it would put the server down like a dDos-attack.

+1.  Elle O'Elle!

My main fantasy these days is starting with a deluxe 5 W body blank, and shaping it into a "Richard Baker"* Four Thousand Three shape, with an accompanying deluxe 5 tiltback blank shaped into the appropriate Richard Baker shape.  Lots of other primo parts/pickups factor in there, as well.  I can't come anywhere close to justifying the cash for the whole thing yet, and I don't want to start ordering parts if it's going to take me years to pay off everything.  This is yet another reminder to push for a raise....

I think we could put each other into GAS comas with the amazing ideas we've built in our heads, so I'll only share that one.  :icon_biggrin:

* Y'know that one company that's building the same designs they've done since the 60s, and aggressively sues anyone that comes close to making something similarly shaped?  Yeah, that's the one.

That one that is down the street from where I work, but doesn't give factory tours because they're crazy secretive... yeah.  I wish I had one of them too.  I was -ahem- building a solid body uke with a body style similar to a certain model.  But unfortunately, I got to the neck and was kind of out of my league as far as building skills go, so that's on hold.

Of course now I have this image in my mind that the factory is like Willy Wonka's Magical Guitar Shop because they don't let anyone in there.

This place is like the worst AA meeting ever.
"Lately, I've been thinking about getting a drink."
"What have you been thinking about drinking?"
"A mostly authentic Cuban Mojito, only with organic strawberries added."
"Oh man, you should TOTALLY drink that!!"

I used to have three (or was it four?) of those 'R' guitars.  They're not that special compared to a warmoth telecaster.  Back in the day (late 80s) they were the best thing going mind you.
