I really would like Warmoth to offer more detailed aka fancy inlays. Like the tree of life seen on Taylor guitars and the birds seen on Seagul and PRS guitars.
So to confirm I am willing to pay for fancy inlays but Warmoth shouldnt offer it? Your statement makes no sense. Is this a suggestion box or a door to be blasted for ideas?
I think what the Captain is saying is that there are those that specialise in inlays. If you order such an inlay, like the Tree of Life, or some other unique inlay, you'll find that it's pretty expensive.
If Warmoth were to offer it (besides all the inlays they do offer now) I'm guessing it too would be pretty expensive. Perhaps so expensive that it would discourage customers getting it.
I'm guessing that they choose not to offer more intricate stuff because they figure they'll get less income than it's worth. And instead leave it to luthiers that offer it.
I saw some guitar builder/luthier here in Sweden that specialises in inlays, and if I remember correctly we're talking about prices starting at $200-300.
But what do I know? Perhaps Warmoth will offer some super cool inlay stuff later this month. :dontknow: They're constantly adding stuff in their shop :icon_thumright:
