I have a top rout jazz bass and Im considering an EMG active pickup set with the included active controls. I assume it all fits in all ok right? No extra routing etc needed?

Should all fit, mini pots can help ensure the battery fits without needing to install a battery box.
Most of all of EMG's basic guts are designed to drop in.

Keep in mind if you're going with the EMG X-active controls, you probably will want to run it off 18v. Should still all fit. I had the double battery box routed in the back of my body purely for ease of access down the road.

Nah I changed my mind about 30 times since I was 100% going to get active EMG's. Ended up getting Dimarzio Ultra Jazz pickups and if that doesnt magically take me away to a place where the perfect tone is not at the touch of a dial, I'll get an Audere ;-)

If I can cram a Master V/T EMG harness and 9v in a tele-esque sized cavity, I think you'll be ok. :icon_thumright:

Unfortunately that means no 18v mod for me.... :tard:

my next EMG loaded build will have a double box on it, the 18v mod is probably the single easiest mod ever.

Keep in mind that if the DiMarzio needs a little EQ adjustment to sort out any rough spot tin their sound, EMG do make Treble & Bass active EQ pots that can take passive pickups. It's not greatly advertised in their webpages but check their .pdfs that have the user installation instructions, and a number of their EQ products do handle the passive pickups. Best of both worlds solution perhaps?  :icon_thumright:
