Your welcome, everybody helping a little this (and the world) will get very better!

Felt very happy posting here the first Fender Rosewood neck, even today only avaiable thru Custom Shop or to Master Endorsers!
Be proud of your dad Diane, wasn't EVH who started the "changing original specs" thing, probably was your father  :icon_biggrin:

Do you know where came the idea of doing a solid rosewood neck? and how did him managed to get it from Leo Fender (who is told as a very "what-I-do-is-perfect" kind of guy)??

As you probably know by now, I have this weird obsession for raw exotic necks, and always wondered why not more professional musicians use this on their guitars.

They play what they play because that's what is offered.  We don't know why we like maple, but Leo used it, so we use it.  It always surprises me how many players with awesome technique have very little knowledge of how their instrument works.  Neck radius, intonation, why a Strat hums and LP doesn't, and the 5-way selector on a Strat confuse the hell out of them.  Do you know how many people think all three Strat pickups are on at the same time on a factory wired Strat?

hi guys:  I'm glad you enjoyed the pics.
To answer your question NT, the idea for a solid rosewood neck came directly from Leo Fender himself, who made it for Eddie and then made  a very special gift of it to Eddie, who was his good friend.
NT, the very first picture I sent you of the rosewood neck guitar from the strat chronicles didn't come out and is such a great enlarged pic of Eddies guitar that maybe you would post it again for  the guys?  Thanks for helping me get the pictures out there, NT.

Yeah, Eddie is a happy guy and always has been.  Hes always smiling.
Maybe because he loves music and has been a musician his whole life. He was also lucky enough to have been able to make a living at it for him and his family.

Thanks again everyone for letting me pop in here.
Cheers
Diane

Thank you so much Diane for all the pictures, and all the background information!  I am sure this is a piece of history that is often left out!!
very exciting!

I tried to copy the link direct from the email, of course didn't work

Now it's apearing! :icon_thumright:

Thanks, NT.
BTW, Eddie owned that guitar for 43 years. No matter how many collectors own it, or sell it among themselves for mega bucks, it will always be known as 'The Eddie Cletro rosewood neck stratocaster', as it is in many strat books. So the next time you see his name I know that now at least you guys won't say....'never heard of him'.
So my job here is done.
