Ebony Neck Natural oil resurfacing?

Just got this Warmoth Ebony Neck and came like this,.
2 spots, contacted them and they said its natural oils surfacing from wood and normal.
Anyone else have this problem? if so what did you do to fix?
They said it will fade in time.
Got 10 days to return.

Then it is just a characteristic of the wood, mineral spots.

This is a natural characteristic of many wood species.
The common misconception about ebony in particular is the expectation all ebony boards will always be all black all the time.
Many production fingerboards that appear all black always are dyed in order to produce that result.

Warmoth can put forth a “jet black” ebony board upon request if I am current on my knowledge, but best to inquire directly with sales@warmoth.com.

Beyond that, think of this fretboard as “organic”…

Trivia - only 10% or less of all ebony trees are jet black wood inside.

Also, you can use mineral oil on the whole board to blend it in.
