It's not reverberation. It's more of an annoying resonance, almost like feedback, that is heard mostly when playing through an overdriven amplifier. My Strat doesn't make any noise (five springs), so I don't need any sound dampener material for it, but two of my Floyd-equipped guitars do, so I have taken measures to eliminate the problem. I have yet another Floyd-equipped guitar that also does not exhibit the problem, so I guess it just depends on the guitar...
