Dying a white pearl neck binding black?

oooo pearl is pretty hard stuff.  Don't think it's possible.

Having said that I've never tried it.

Why not do black pearl binding. Trying to dye stone like substances is largely an exercise in futility.

Not many details. Is the body already finished? and how? with what?

But it seems a non-starter all around. If the body is unfinished, strip the old binding off and put black binding on. If it's clear coated, then there is to way to get to and change the binding.

He just sent me this link

Doesn’t look like white pearl to me.

Nope, just white. Your best bet is to live with the white until refret time, then the binding could be replaced with whatever you want. Refinish the neck at that time too.

Why do people on ebay never wear shoes?

Gets me too, especially with a jacked up thumb toe pointing off to the side.  Kind of like folks wh dress in their Jammie’s to shop at Walmart.  You the ones who really care because at least their Jammie’s are nice instead of the sloths that just meander with any old sleep dud scraps.

If your gonna post your feet on EBay, get a pedicure first…

It doesn't look like pearl to me either. But I think it is one of those jobs to better politely decline unless he wanted to pay to have a re fret and the binding replaced which for what it is would not be cost effective.

Agreed, just live with the white binding.

Ah, he wanted to increase the Brutality factor of the neck.  Understandable. :D  But being a fan of Brutal guitars, I'd personally leave it because even Evil needs a bit of contrast for visual interest. ;)

Because what's next, black frets?  Black strings?

I'd agree that any coloring attempted would just come off on his hands.

On a slightly tangential note I suppose the feet in the Ebay listing could have black nail varnish applied
