Wow.  That's a piece of work.  I think this was the same seller who posted another similar monstrosity a few months ago.  It looked like a bunch of 5-string basses got melted together.

Reminds me of the Roland GR-707. I wonder if that upper horn tumor is benign. He should get a luthier to look at that.

I'm not gonna try it. You try it!
I'm not gonna try it... I know! Let's get Mikey!

OMG. Just saw this.

I think you all are being to harsh, his sellername is 'Maxetone' - I'm sure he knows all about...  something.

Weren't there some really ugly guitars made like this in the 80s ?. I think someone had the idea that making the headstock part of the body gave more sustain. Looked hideous though.

I don't remember seeing anything that wild, but during the '70s there were a lot of wild-assed guitars from the far east flogged here in the States. They'd have 4 pickups, foil inlays in the pickguards, switches and knobs up the ass, and some pretty imaginative paint jobs. I can't remember what the slang term was for them, but they were essentially "blister pack" pinewood and/or particle board guitars aimed at the "unsophisticated parent" market who wanted to buy their little budding artists a starter instrument that looked "cool", but didn't dare spend more than $50-$75 on it knowing it was going to become a dust collector very quickly. It would be interesting to know how many people will never touch a guitar again because of those miserable things.

Well, the late, great Michael Hedges used to play a pretty mean Harp Guitar, and IIRC, some of those dated back 100 years or so.
