drop-in-bridge ??

reviews on the boogie rail bridge....anyone ?

I think it's okay; it seems slightly more effective than stock, so long as you don't mind setting the trem up as dive-only, I've had no luck whatever getting it to return to a neutral floating position. If you can get it for half off, it may not be too bad, but otherwise you may be better off with the gotoh.

My experiences have been about the same. Definitely a dive-only trem, and the bar sticks out of the face of the guitar alot, so if you have any Jeff Beckish simultaneous pinky volume swells and whammy flutter notions, fuggetabadit. Definitely a very solid piece of gear, thought. Good quality machining, etc. Very solid feeling and comfortable bridge, but i suppose alot of that has to do with the saddle choice. I used the graph tech string saver classics. Oh yeah... USE LUBE. It makes a big difference in the smoothness of the trem movement. Petroleum Jelly is what they recommend, but any machining lubricant works.

The boogie rail is my #1 bridge choice if I have to replace a six hole trem, but I still prefer hipshot and wilkinson two point trems.

Check out the Mann Made trem. It's a six screw but it uses a knife point set up on all six screws. It's basically the old PRS trem.

I love it. My review: http://www.unofficialwarmoth.com/index.php?topic=15141.0

I think the bar is perfect, much better than the OEM 6 point anyhow.
They recommended petroleum jelly, which I used at first.  Next string change I added some white lithium grease and it's been silky smooth since.
