Thats how I call my new project. Thanks to Rob, I just recieved my shipping details, and wow: it got shipped yesterday, but I didn't get a notification by UPS! Which is kinda weird, but even cooler that it's in europe already, and might get here maybe even tomorrow!!!!

Here are some specs....

Guitar #1:
1 piece walnut TOP
2 piece walnut back, maple laminate spacer
3 humbuckers (motherbucker/multibucker/motherbucker, in triple shot rings, with 3 volume 3 tone, coiltaps and 2x 3way toggles)
kahler bridge
bubinga neck
ebony fingerboard
block inlay
gibson headstock
22 frets, 6100 size (my favorite, can't live without the superjumbo's anymore!)

Guitar #2:
Figured koa top
(I believe 1 part) mahogany back
3 humbuckers (3x q tuners)
regular ToM bridge
purpleheart neck
ebony fingerboard
block inlay
gibson headstock
22 frets, 6100 size

very 'woody' stuff, but: I LIKE IT! :D

once again I just HAVE to emphasise Warmoth's customer support. I only wish other companies were only 1/10th as caring and communicative as warmoth is.

I now have 10 warmoth les pauls, and I think I've stretched all the specs to the limit, hell, there's not even a neckwood left for me to try (on an angled neck, except pau ferro (check, on my crimson!), or bocote (check: on my crimson), bloodwood (check, on my crimson as a laminate) and goncalo alves (still left to try).

I'm looking forward to seeing #2 (went with the Q tuners I see)  :laughing7:

yeah, I did :) they look really nice and sturdy IRL. NO WAY the wires can corrode or something like that, as you have with regular pickups, even with a metal cover, cause they're encased in epoxy or something like that. They are supposed to be as hot as EMG's, but passive. I really can't wait to try them! Added benefits: less weight! (100 grams vs. 200 for a regular pickup!) and cause the magnets are so strong, they can be setup lower; less string pull and more tone... I suppose  :laughing7:

Sounds great as usual!

Do you ever stop?  I mean you just got THREE new ones like a little over a month ago, AND you have three crimsons on the way and now these two?  I applaud you sir for being able to afford all that.  :icon_thumright:

three? please refresh my memory.... the last 2 I bought, were in june and july; a trans green one and a trans blue. I payed for those with the money I got by selling 2 gibson LP customs I never used, which in turn, I got by selling an old '76 custom I never used (and saving up a bit for the other one).

the hollowbody bubinga crimson has been payed for already, and will arrive shortly, and the other 2 are on hold, cause I wanted these 2 guitars first (warmoth... unique stuff...couldn't let it pass me buy... love koa... love walnut, you know! :D ). so, not really 3.

so... it isn't as extreme as it might seem, though Time does seem to fly!

Oh yeah I forgot about those Gibsons that you sold.

But the third one was the purple heart one, I thought that was around the same time as the trans green and blue but I may be wrong.

But anyways, can't wait to see these two new ones  :icon_biggrin:

SRV fan?
no, I just like the name :P

My parts have arrived early this morning, and I've been working my ass off to get something together. I needed to rout the kahler-hole, which took me forever, and I needed to enlarge the hole which runs from the bridgepickuppocket to the control cavity. I seriously dont have the time right now to post pics, but when I get back from work, I will post some, cause, boy oh boy, those necks and bodies look smashing! The bubinga by the way, might be now my favorite neck wood! its even smoother than ziricote, or at least the cut I got. The mahogany is indeed a 1 piece, and the rest is as quoted. The maple spacer looks like its flamed, cause I see spots which are darker than others with a regular patern (as you see with for example PRS' clearcoat binding).

I've got a lot of work to do, mounting hte tuners, pots, knobs, output jack and plates, and ofcourse, wiring and setting the thing up. I think it'll be until monday until I have 2 playable guitars, but I already love both of them!

here's a teaser....

the koa with the qtuner pickups.

Man that looks great!  Put that thing together and post some sound clips!  I wanna hear those Qtuners.

the other one is lovely too by the way:

and the backs of both:

I don't know why, but the koa is really not that orange :D

I did some stuff today on the guitars. First of all, I bought me FOUR switchcraft toggles (and other stuff, but not really that mentionable). First of all, I had to rout a bit inside the control cavity for the pots, so I could get them more flat to the back of the cavity, and since they're now a bit recessed, I was able to use that knurled ring so the pot wont slide (which is not really that common with concentric pots!).

The spot for the switches needed some routing too. ofcourse, the hole had to be widened cause the pothole is smaller than the toggle itself. The toggle on the upperbout NEVER fits, I dont know why, but switchcraft allways require a tad of routing. nothing serious.

So... what did I do?

install the pots and knobs
install the output jackplates and jacks itself
install the toggles
install the strap buttons
installing q-tuners+rings

whats left?
glueing on the nuts
installing the mother/multibucker pickups+rings (straight and square!)

and after that? soldering the thing up, and then? just pure, sheer rock'n'roll!!

some pics, cause I'm not the lousiest forum member :D

I really dig the koa as she is right now. the black pots, gold bridge, black pickups, it looks heavy metal, but classy too. I'm not sure I like the walnut though. I LOVE the wood, I Love it in combination with the black pots and toggles and gold bridge, but I dont know about those pickups... Should I put on gold covers, or leave it like this? I can't get a black cover for the multibucker, nor can I do something else with it, except leave it like this OR waxpot it in a closed gold cover...I wish it were black, so I could have 3 black with gold rim pickups. but helas, it aint. and I can't take off the white cover (well, I can, but if I do, you'll see an opening between the 2 railpickups, its not like they're ajasoned to eachother (damn how do you write that word?!)
