Does Warmoth do Nitrocellulose finishes now?

I suspect not , I know they outlawed it California for environmental issues , and Washington is typically a bit "greener" .

That's why Talylor and others switched finishing materials.

It's pretty unclear by that wording. Does it feel like nitro or is it nitro? There's no more details that I can find.

The Warmoth Satin finish is a Nitro. The Clears and Trans colors are Poly.

Satin Finish
Our Satin finish is a nitrocellulose lacquer; highly sought after by vintage guitar purists. It has no gloss or shiny look to it; the appearance is dull or matte. This is a more functional type finish which is appreciated by some for its faster, slicker feel.

never noticed that before :icon_scratch:

btw - there's those semicolons that don't belong. :laughing7:

Is that little blerb new for the new website?
I have never seen that before, and i always heard that Warmoth didn't do Nitrocellulose.

I suspected as much, my vintage stain neck seemed 'soft'

I have been thinking about buying an unfinished body and getting someone to finish it for me in satin white Nitro...
Could Warmoth do that for me? (Crosses fingers and holds breath)

I still wanna know if a really thick nitro finish sounds better than a thin poly one.... :laughing11:

Yeah, I was hoping for a transparent red on mahogany with a satin finish.

I don't believe poly gets that nice honey color over time like nitro.

If you have a satin coat of nitro , it's not a lot of work to spray a gloss nitro coat over it

Trans Red Satin tends to look Pink by the way.

Body Satin finishes are still a Poly. It is just MAPLE necks spec'd as Satin get the Nitro.
