Does my neck have a satin finish or is it raw?

v.tr.
1. To climb (a rope or pole, for example) by gripping and pulling alternately with the hands and legs.

(Please note, I'm not getting at you. For some reason, though, this forum always talks about things being "shinny" and "shinning up" and whatnot. And it bugs me by a disproportionate amount)

So, er, unless your neck is climbing trees...

I'll tell you a satin neck is faster than any raw neck out there, it's so good you can't tell it's finished.
:dontknow:  Not so sure on that one.

You need to try this, on a RAW neck then .... http://www.unofficialwarmoth.com/index.php?topic=19901.0
Just make sure you have a good grip on the neck when you pick it up.
Or it'll slip straight outta your hand.  :laughing7:

I got the same idea to do 2000 grit on the back of my canary neck when I was working on the headstock. You're right. It's no joke. It was already great but now it is so ridiculously smooth.

I also have a satin neck (that I love) which is very smooth, soft, and fast. I would say it's very comparable to a raw neck as it comes from Warmoth, but if you use some 2000 on the back of the raw, it's just unbeatable.
