That’s not an option. I, like many guitar players, am very particular about the profiles on my guitars, more so than any other aspect. It’s either reshape the profile or never play the guitar.
Presumably you already have guitars that suit your requirements, so why not start with a neck profile closer to what you want or make or buy something that is.
Haven't ruined a neck so far but I've ruined two entire bodies in the past. Thankfully they were cheap. One was a cheap replacement body and the other an old squier stagemaster or showmaster body.
I'm still thinking whether it's possible to repair them.
Good to know all this by the way, thanks for posting.
Edit: Maybe I could give some more info to add to the value of this thread a little.
First case was, the body didn't have the bridge post holes so I had to drill them. And I measured 25.5" of scale length to the low E saddle instead of the high E saddle. So I widened the trem block hole too. Ended up too close to the bridge humbucker cavity and the wall between the cavity and the trem block hole started cracking.
Second case, the bridge post holes ended up a bit too tight. And during the hammering I split the body.
Completely understand, Aaron. But yea, this guitar customization/personalization thing can be a mfer. I’m not scared though. I’m after the perfect instrument and if I have to destroy some parts on the way, so be it.
