Folks,
I just picked up a pair of Direct Sound extreme isolation headphones. The EX-29 model to be precise. I wanted them because my sennheiser sets are getting a little old, and they have no isolation. This was especially a problem when trying to get a good mic placement for violin. It was impossible to hear what the violin sounded like while the violinist was playing.
So on to these headphones. Well, I have to say they are FANTASTIC! Very flat response, and complete isolation. No bleed into mics - they are completely silent to the outside world when you are wearing them. And there is 29 db of isolation. I find that I can run them pretty quietly, still hear everything, even with a loud source 'outside'. They are quite comfortable as well. I'm listening through them as I type this and I'm really enjoying the music. They are also made to be taken apart and parts replaced as things wear out.
I've been around long enough that I don't tend to get too excited about new stuff. But I love these headphones.
Just had to share,
Trevor
