Did a lil' guitar surgery today...

Did some guitar surgery today. I figured, after 17 years, well over 500 gigs, several dozen worship services, counteless rehearsals, hundreds of hours of studio time, it was finally time to replace the giblets in my faithful TFS6 signature guitar. This time, I added a push/pull Volume pot to split the coils, and shrink wrapped every solder joint.  Ain't nothing shaking loose on this baby!  It's probably the cleanest wire job I've done yet, and it sounds clean & quiet, not hiss/hum or ground noise.

Parts replaced: 500k Volume Pot, LP Style Toggle Switch, Deep panel jack.

I still have the treble bleed cap/resister mod on the volume pot, although you can barely see it with it tucked under the positive wire from the toggle and the output wire to the jack.

Looks good! If nothing else, the peace of mind a good wiring job and good parts brings is worth whatever effort it takes. If it eliminates some bothersome idiosyncrasies in the process, so much the better. I'm sure you'd rather nip noisy pots or intermittent connections in the bud when you're on your own time than suffer the indignities of such failures in public.

I've had a switch/pickup wire come loose before, and the output jack was starting to short out when my leg would hit it.

This way, the heat shrink will keep stuff from moving around inside.  Now, just gotta keep the switch and the pot clean with some cleaner every once in a while.
