Designing a logo

I’ve only built a couple of guitars, but plan on continuing, so I decided to create a logo for my guitars to be placed on the headstock. I want it to look musical, but include my initials R and S

This was created in Shaper studio. My thought is I could either cut it out via cnc and float epoxy or fill the S with something like brass wire and the R with a contrasting wood. I did a test cut in plywood.

Anyone else create a logo for your builds?

Nice! It looks like it fits well in many orientations. Do you know what dimensions you chose?

I like that first logo a lot.

I have used waterslide decals also. Results obviously depend on if/how you are finishing the headstock, but if done correctly the outline will all but disappear making it appear painted on. Let me know if interested and I can send a tutorial.

Thanks!
I have been ordering my necks from Warmoth unfinished and I have access to two cnc machines, so it's easy to engrave something, even on an offset or tilt back headstock. That first image is an svg file I created in Shaper Studio for the Shaper Origin cnc. In the cutting board world, a lot of people use branding irons. create a logo, burn it in, sand it back, then finish. Rustic, but effective. I even created my own brand... my dog's face, lol.

Yup. I took his picture, converted to black and white, removed extraneous details, and boosted the contrast.
Nice ! An SVG file would be perfect for doing a water slide decal as well. My Wife has a lot of craft stuff including Cricut machines and lazer engravers, so I always use SVG and print it out through her stuff.

I’d have to look in the Word file. Since I’m printing a whole sheet I use a table in Word, 4 cells wide on a 81/2” page. Each row has a different font size and color, so one printed sheet has a lot of decals to work with.

Cool, they are mostly working dogs in the area where I live, though some are kept as pets. I have always liked them.
We used to show our Samoyed at Dog Shows, which is a Working Group dog, and had some friends with Border Collies showing them in the Agility and Obedience trials. Very cool dogs indeed, super intelligent !!!

My dog’s job is hiking. He did some agility training as well, but I just didn’t have time to commit to it.
It is very time consuming. We gave all that up many moons ago. We even had a sled team for the Northern Breeds (Samoyeds, Huskies, Malamutes) that we would do charity events, parades, etc at Christmas and pull Santa. Of course it was on wheels since we’re in TX……

My lab's job is to protect the house from ninjas and he's quite good at it.

[out of nowhere]
Dog: "BARK! BARK! BARK! GROOOOWWWWWWLLLLL!!!"
Wife: "What's up with him?"
Me: "Must be ninjas again trying to take us out, but he's surely scared them off."
Wife: "Thank goodness!"
