Ok,I know I have seen this posted on here before,but I cant seem to find it.Anyway,I noticed this weekend that there is a tiny dent in my maple neck.Can someone please tell me how to fix this.I could have sworn that somebody made a post on how to do so.Thanks in advance for any help.

It may or may not be fixable; where is it? You have pictures? I don't recall seeing a thread on this; if it's really a "tiny dent" you can just leave it or sand it out if in an appropriate location.

Guitars are made of wood and if used to their potential will never remain pristine.

Yeah man,I saw something on here where you applied some kinda "whatever" and it would make the wood rise back to its original form.I know its on here somewhere.Cant seem to find it.Maybe it works and maybe it doesnt.

I think -CB- was the one with the fix, and it had something to do with applying heat.  I'm looking for the thread, stand-by!

OOps, it was Gregg who had the fix.  It's in this thread;

I've fixed dings in neck and bodies using thick superglue, and some accelarator. There's a detailed explanation in Dan Erlewine's "Guitar Player Repair Guide". Here's a quickie:

Just leave the ding in it. Eventually, if you have the guitar long enough, it'll be worth more money... Look what the Fender Custom Shop charges to ding the axe for you....

haven't read the other topic, but if you put a damp rag over it and then set a soldering iron on it it causes the wood to sweat (i think that's the word for it) and raise up, fixing the dent.

Indeed (and Gibson, too)... :laughing3:
