So, a few months back the girlfriend and I are browsing through the ever wonderful showcase and we saw  (as shown below) a gorgeous green burst flame maple on swamp ash body.  It said there was a ding in the finish in the back.... we figured, it's the back... shouldn't matter much.  Definitely won't affect playability.  But hey, we're low on cash and what not so we let it go, figured it'd be gone in no time the way the price seemed to keep dropping.

A month and a half later we go back and it's still there, price heavily reduced.... and decided to go ahead and get it as I'd just been paid from a project.  It looked bored anyway.  Poor Warmoth guys were probably itching to get rid of this thing.

I think we're going to go fretless with it - though we can't really afford anything for it until winter, so we'll see what happens when we get there.

This NEEDS a flamed maple neck and fingerboard!
If you don't use this, you'll become a green man!!!! That is my course :P

Totally, a Goncalo neck and Pao Ferro fretboard...fretless...fingerboard  :tard:

I've been wanting to order a Goncalo neck for the longest time....2010 maybe? anyway...

Oh you people and your awesome bajillion neck ideas.  I'm very much leaning to the Goncalo + Pau area, but I dunno - this is a two person project so to speak so we'll see what the ol significant other is thinking.  Pretty sure we're gonna go the way of a raw wood though... they're so worth it.

I almost wonder if they have the materials to do a Canary neck right now.  Hmmm

Any of you folks have a favorite Jazz pickup?  Trying to brainstorm on what may compliment a fretless ebony fretboard.

maybe a bartolini pup+preamp system?

I don't know why exactly but bartolini and fretless just go together in my head
