I had started this thread http://www.unofficialwarmoth.com/index.php?topic=11337.0 a year ago. There are people who say just do it yourself, to me it's all about options.

If you were asked for a new option on knobs placement... Just curious to see how many agree with Warmoth's idea to offer this new option and not another one. I just don't see how anyone who's using a pickup selector will choose the Delonge volume position. Judging from the finished guitars on Warmoth & UnofficialWarmoth sites most people use 2 or 3 pickups and a blade selector on their strats. Why not give an option to people who don't want an exact replica? As far as the exact knob placements I'm sure they can find two positions to make it look symmetric, so many companies have done it.

If you like the 3 knob classic strat placement or you like the "omit a knob" look that's fine. I'd like to hear from the others.

Well, I used the Delonge option for my strat. Granted, it was due to technical/fitting issues - but even if it wasn't - I still would
have moved the volume pot. I don't like it that close to the bridge to begin with, and always accidently bump it on my Jackson.

That being said, if you're assembling a guitar (ie and have a few brain cells to spare) its nothing to order a pickguard without pot holes
and drill them yourself how you want 'em, right?

I once asked Tom delonge's guitar tech abvout the one knob thing, She is a nice lady and loves her son TOm, anyway she told me she did not like to confuse her son with issues like what the other knobs do.

I love the standard strat volume position, neither of those options please me at all. therefore i did not vote.
