Hello friends

Firstly thank you for having such a great community here - without being able to peruse through the forum ahead of my Warmoth purchase I never would have had the courage to go through with a first build.

Been trying to post my ‘just out of the box’ here for some time but every time I try uploading images the post goes in to some kind of internet black hole never to be seen again.    So this is kind of half ‘just out of the box’ and half WIP.

I wrestled with different strat designs over a couple weeks (natural finish, bursts, top/bottom route etc...) and finally settled on a vintage vibe.  Figured the colour was verging on timeless and the top route would be forgiving in case I ever want to switch something up since I don’t expect financial authorization for too many more of these projects.

Was a painful 7 week wait but the toys are here!

Solid Swamp Ash body in Daphne Blue with contoured heel, universal route
(finish is excellent - not a hint of swirl marks or orange peel)

Warmoth pro neck in "very nice" birds-eye maple from the showcase (saved $100)
it had everything i wanted other than satin finish - hope the gloss doesn't irritate me over time
10-16" radius
1-11/16" nut width
Graphtech nut
SS6150 frets
Standard thin
vintage tint (i have since removed the finish from the frets)

Schaller locking tuners

Pickups are Dimarzio Area 67 neck, Tone Zone bridge

Mint pickguard (just the right mintyness) routed for two separate volume controls (one DPDT for split coil on the TZ) and I drilled for a les paul style 3-way toggle.  Stupid me forgot to order pickguard screws.

Wilkinson VS100 Trem

Bunch of parchment colored knobs and things.

Pretty excited to put tape this sucker together and see how it sounds!!!

sorry for all the posts here - every time i try to upload a few pics at once it doesn't post...

That is one handsome neck.

Thanks!  it was taunting me from the showcase and I figured better to just snatch that one up than to order a different piece of birds eye and not know what it will look like till it arrives.

Nice! I love the blue and the neck! And the pickup configuration too!
Did the frets come with flat ends like that, or did you special request them, or am I seeing thangs?

The neck was from the showcase, but I didn't modify the frets - thankfully they were pretty level.  The ends are flat but angled - not parallel to the neck.  Smoother than it looks - no snagging sliding up and down the neck

The guitar is actually fully assembled!!  i'll post pics in the appropriate forum.
