Custom 5 String P

I'm not sure how to get what I want out of Warmoth, assuming it's possible.  Their custom offerings don't seem to have some choices I'd like and I'm wondering if they have some other means.  Long long long ago, they used to do totally custom work if you sent them a template or something for them to go on.  But, I don't see that on their website anymore.

In any case, what I want isn't super duper custom.  It's just a different mix of what they do offer.  I want a 5 string P bass body with no comfort curves.  Yes, I know they have the slab body, but, I want the P bass edge radius (1/2 I think it is).  For the neck I want boat neck contour (not asymetrical), straight radius (not compound radius), 4+1 head stock.  The other parameters I want are regular options that they offer all the time.

Aloha, Mr. President.

Sounds like you should call them.  As the board title suggests, we are a bunch of Warmoth fanbois enthusiasts, and save for one or two members, we don't speak for Warmoth itself.  The builders offer a wide array of choices, but not necessarily ALL the available choices, just the ones that were economical to code into the web pages at the time.  The folks at Warmoth World Headquarters in scenic Puyallup, Washington, may have some other options for you.

I was hoping someone here had experience ordering off the menu, so to speak, from Warmoth.  Things have changed a lot since I bought a guitar neck from them ~20 years ago.  Back then you could mix and match whatever details they offered.  Nowadays, all the details are packaged.  Option 1 is Headstock A with Radius B with Neck Carve G with .....  Option 2 is Headstock B with Radius Z with Neck Carve L with .....  "In the good old days" (lol) you could mix any head stock with any radius with any neck carve with ...., more or less, plus send them templates to get options not listed.

I just want to mix and match from the details they offer, not send them custom templates or anything complicated, and I'm not sure that they do that anymore.

Well, thing is, with CNC manufacture, if it's not on the menu, it's custom development (or at least less profitable hand-work).

You need to ask them, they painted a Walnut body for me which wasn't available on their body builder. It didn't cost anymore than a paint job on an alder body would have cost.

I did ask about an all Bubinga body, they said, yeah but it'll cost ya. So I decided against it.  :sad1:

But you won't know till you ask.
