curious

She's a goner, all right.

My guess is either (a) Warmoth's license to build that body style ran out and the cost to renew was too high, or (b) they didn't have a license and someone threatened to sue, or (c) they didn't have a license and their attorneys advised them to knock it off in order to avoid attracting a suit.

Rank speculation, but since I'm a former trial lawyer, they're educated guesses about how such things play out.

Yours truly,

The correct answer is (b).

From what I read, EB-MM contacted Warmoth about the body design & in the end the design was pulled. Similar for the 4=2 headstock that they sometimes did.

Whether there was any animosity or legal posturing involved I have no idea.   :dontknow: Could've been as simple as a letter from them putting a request to Warmoth and Warmoth deciding it wasn't worth the hassle given the numbers they were making in that design? I doubt anyone from W would wanna discuss this though, there's probably been some legal agreement made since then that prevents them from commenting.
