It's kind of crazy.  Schools in my province are closed for the next three weeks at minimum.  My work has just made me and all other managers ensure that everyone in our departments can work from home in case we end up with an infected person at the building (we're closing the building for two weeks if that happens to try to prevent spread of the virus).

We'll probably all get the virus sooner or later and most of us will get over it just fine.  My understanding is that the concern is not so much that the virus will kill a huge number . . . but that it spreads rapidly and has potential to overwhelm medical practitioners.  If all the hospitals in your area are two or three hundred percent over capacity from infected people it's going to be hard to effectively respond to all the stuff they usually do.  And that will be a pretty big problem.

basic flu kills like 0.1% of people it infects while covid19 is upwards of 3-6%, depending on your source, and is communicable before you show symptoms. plz keep washing yo hands. if you under 60 your mortality rate is very, very low, sure, but 3% of several million infections is scary stuff and a vaccine aint coming for at least a year or two

Public libraries here in Toronto shut down today.  I managed to get a couple armfulls of books before they closed.  Hopefully that will last us through until they reopen.  We use the library a lot normally - no cable.  This sucks.
