Clean holes?

How can I drill clean holes for flip switches and such?  Every time I've tried, I get un-even cuts at the top of the drills.  The holes from warmoth look laser-cut, in comparison.  Do I just need a drill press?

If you put a piece of masking tape over the location you are going to drill the hole will be much cleaner. 
Yes, a drill press would be nice, but not absolutly necessary if you have a steady hand.

If your drilling through something and not just into something, it also helps to put a piece of scrapwood on the other side and that keeps the drill from splintering the wood where it exits.

Both Excellent Tips....I"ve used them both as well.  :icon_thumright: ...... Also use Brand New Bits when drilling....they need to be sharp,sharp,sharp.....

use a forstner bit

They come in tiny sizes too.
