Here's my tech guy.  If you look at his pics, you can see a ton of guitars that he has built.  I played one, it was pretty cool.

Unfortunately, his regular website doesn't seem to be working.  But you can see all of his stuff on myspace.

Those are some of the ugliest guitars I have ever seen. To each his own though...

You probably just looked at the glittery Speedsters.  There is more there, like the awesome double f hole jazz guitars and the Teles he has built.  You have to look at both albums.

There are several that don't have the flake finishes.  I'm not a fan of that finish either, but I like the body shapes and stuff.

Those Speedsters are like a hybrid of a Pacifica (Yamaha) and Ibanez Talman series with a very small hint of every Peavy/MM/Wolfgang/VW variation.  Kudos for originality.  There's only so many single cutaway guitar shapes, everything is bound to look like something to someone.

Having played a couple of the Speedsters, I can tell you that they are very comfy to play.  The necks are compound radius.  They're almost like a cello neck, so I think it's a little more exaggerated version than Warmoth's compound radius.  CB was telling me that the pickups are hand made by a friend of his, which I think is kind of cool.  It just makes the whole package a lot more unique.  If I had lots of money, I'd probably have him build me an archtop, though I like the non-sparkly Speedsters as well.  He's a nice guy, and it would be really fun to work with him on it.
