Just took the plunge on a carved top tele (I've wanted one since they were first announced!) - Specs are:

Body:
Carved top tele
Swamp Ash body, with contoured heal and tummy contour
Floyd Rose w/ angled pocked
Humbucker (wood mounted) at bridge and neck
Upper Toggle (will do the rest myself)

Neck:
Warmoth Pro tele neck
Flamed maple with flamed maple fretboard
Black dots
Standard Contour
10-16" compound
Floyd nut shelf

Trying to do this one as cheap as possible without comprimising too much on quality. Going to use the same finish as my Zebra Strat (as I still have the dyes, etc), going to use one of the Ping Floyd Rose trem's (they're meant to be pretty good!) instead of an original - so we'll see how it goes!

Now I have to wait.... argh!!

Sounds killer, I'm always down for a tele with a floyd and pups mounted direct...

:headbang1: These are mine

IMO a beautiful wood like Flamed maple should go with either no dots or something as wild like abalone
Nevertheless, a great build!

Hmm, I may ask Warmoth to omit the dots then - what do you guys think? My guitar tutor won't be too please though ;-)

Looks like it's gonna cost me $45 to have the dots omitted, so they're staying!

Normally omitting the face dots is a free option but makes the neck non-returnable. I don't know about omitting the side dots but I doubt you'd want that.

I emailed sales and that's what they said. I'd want to keep the side dots, but they say I'd have to pay $45 for the omission of the face dots. Oh well!

There is no upcharge for "no face dots" on the original order. If you are changing the order then they will charge you.

The surcharge is due to changing the order mid-build. They have to go out into the production shop to find your particular pieces, find out of the status, put them on hold, get back to you, you make your changes, then it's back into the shop to note the changes of the production for your parts, make sure the workers understand the changes and then build your parts correctly.

Warmoth's ordering/production system is automated, but changes require human intervention into the production shop, it's not just changing an order code on your spec sheet.  :icon_thumright:

Oh well. At least his guitar teacher will be happy, and he can always drill out the black dots and put in abalone ones.

AAAAAAAAAAAAAH I just got an email from UPS and it's on it's way! just over 3 weeks for a custom body and neck, that's super quick Warmoth!

What a treat!
