Canary Pau Ferro neck

Does anyone have one? I'm thinking about a Maple/Rosewood neck but since the option is available I thought I might try something else.

I have a canary/ebony neck, so I'm  not in quite the same ballpark as PF.  But I do like the texture of the canary wood very much, and find the guitar it's attached too ( a mahogany tele with P90's) is just about the perfect vehicle for P90 roar - good edge, and good midrange snarl as well.

I have a canary/ziricote, which is similar to canary/ebony only better looking... :dontknow:

I have a Canary/Kingwood neck on this Tele that I like really well...

My Pau Ferro neck has an Ebony fretboard on it, and that's very nice. It's a toss-up whether I like that or the Bloodwood/Ebony neck best. The feel is just fantastic.

I've got canary/canary on a couple of teles.  Really really like that combination.  Tone is very similar to maple/rosewood that I have on a couple of different teles.

But I don't kiss and tell.

But, would you piss and moan if it wasn't a Good Thing?

Reviewing the thread, it looks like a lotta prolific builders are fans of Canary. I know I'd use it again

I would really like the fretboard to have a color similar to rosewood if thats possible.

I have Canary on Canary neck, Wolfgang back contour and it's a great neck! It definetely sounds warmer that all maple necks. I've got Warmoth Alder Soloist with Canary neck and this guitar sounds like something between alder-maple strat and all mahogany Gibson SG. It has punchy sound with great mids and low-mids, it has quite enough highs, but it hasn't that clear spark, that all maple necks give. It has a spark, but it's softer than with maple neck.

I found this combination just great for me! Rythm ans soloing sounds amazing, jucy! :party07: When I tried Gibson SG, it was to dark for my taste (it's cool, warm, but too dark sounding for me), so  Alder+Canary appeared to be just great:)

And raw wood feels so awesome! I'm Warmoth fan from now:)

I do! I do! And I love everything about it and the guitar it graces. http://www.unofficialwarmoth.com/index.php?topic=17462.0

I'd say pau is similar-ish to ebony, but juuuuust a wee bit softer . . . maybe. A slightly more satin feel, not as slick. Slightly.

It  isn't as open-grained as rosewood, obviously.

That said, it is my favorite wood (I have an all-pau neck). I almost went the canary-pau route as well, but the other one came up in the showcase and that was that. I'd expect pau to go well atop a good piece of canary, and aesthetically it'll look killer.
