Can this bridge rout be rerouted?

Customer ordered a body with a vintage strat flat mount bridge.

Can the vintage strat flat mount bridge be rerouted/overrouted(?) with the 2 Tek bridge?

Secondary question...can this current bridge be re-routed/overrouted for a Graphtech Ghost Wraparound piezo bridge?

Thanks in advance!

Anything can be filled and re-routed, it just takes the labor and (often) negates transparent finishes. There is no route at all for the Vintage Hardtail bridge, it's just 9 holes — three holes for the mounting screws and six counter-sunk holes for the strings and ferrules.

  • If you want to install a 2Tek, then you have to route out the hole for it, chances are that route will remove the existing holes, but I'm not sure.
  • If you want a wrapround bridge, then you'll want to fill the existing holes first, finish/refinish, and then drill out the bushing holes for the wraparound studs.

The real question is, can you change the bridge route specified after the order is placed?  My understanding is that it is a potential yes depending on how far into production the body currently is, and if not too late, with an up charge it is possible.  Best to inquire directly with Warmoth to be sure.

The real question is..

Actually friend, the real question is whether or not I should pull the trigger on a Warmoth body up for resale.

What I like about this strat body is its a maple body (rare no?) with a rosewood top and a satin finish.

H/H with a switch rout and a single pot in the tone 2 spot its an odd beast (but can't the vol/tone 1 pots be added post production?)

The problem is it also has a 720 mod which I have no experience with, and have heard some negative things: W's own representative giving a much appreciated honest answer.

I was thinking of offering an absurd low number to possibly get in the 720 game if seller was desperate and could not find a buyer.

However, after much thought I think I would want to go with the Ghost piezo wraparound bridge for my purposes.

I doubt the 720 mod is going to be compatible with a high-profile wraparound bridge.

Quite the opposite, Warmoth  would probably pair an angled neck pocket with a wraparound.

Vintage Flatmount is just holes. 2tek looks like they cover all the holes. I know my pic overlay is within a pixel of the holes, but since that's a string hole, it should be within the bridge outline.

Probably and you could order a body with a 720 mod and a 2Tek but I would doubt it would work with a wraparound bridge without an angled pocket.

You could always check with Warmoth to be certain.

2Tek still uses saddles so you could put ghost strat saddles on it appears. And an angled shim solves the height requirement for a wraparound bridge if he goes that route, but a post bridge doesn't get rid of the existing flatmount holes.

I say go for it, my dude. Can't be that hard with some basiic toolz. after all, what is life but, at the end of the day, a list of things you reckon with not having done
