Can birdseye maple / selected choice be roasted?

Just wondering if birdseye maple can be roasted, and whether I can choose the specific piece of wood.  Looking to get an all birdseye fretless neck, roasted if possible.

Birdseye can be roasted, but nobody fabricates necks and then roasts them. The raw lumber is roasted first, then machined into a neck. It's not like putting a finish on something as a last step.

Yeah, I didn't mean after the fact, I just don't see how to select roasted birdseye in the neck builder.  Seems to be one or the other.

The builder provides options that the Warmoth folks predict will satisfy the majority of comers.  If you want something you don't see in the builder, it may yet be available, but you have to make the extra effort to call or email.  W. may be sitting on some roasted birdseye stock, but you won't know if you don't ask.

Warmoth does not roast on site. Their wood is ordered from a supplier. If they had ordered roasted Maple with any fancy figuring, we probably would have known about the stock by now, because one-offs would have shown up in the showcase. In any case, as usual, you have to call them to ask about things like this.

Ok, thanks, that's what I figured.  I'll ask.  If not, one or the other will have to do for now.  Not bad either way.  :)

So Warmoth just posted photos on its Facebook page of the first roasted birdseye neck to come off the line.

Even then, until you cut into a billet/blank, there's no way of determining in advance just exactly how it will look, including to any degree of birdseye, flame, or quilt any piece of would will yield.
