The warning on kids' toys, "Some assembly required.  Your parents put it together."

I'm going to take some better pics.  In direct, full sunlight, the colors look lighter.  BTW, I'm not liking the gold hardware.  The knobs, tuners, neck plate, strap buttons, and bridge are all different color golds.  Some of the odds and ends screws are brass that I got from the hardware store.  A lot of stuff on a guitar is just nickel, chrome, or silver by default.  Pole pieces, jacks, and what not.  I could go chrome.  After doing this a while, I have enough chrome replacement hardware for a Tele, lol.

This is the kind of guitar that will look good with whatever hardware color you choose. BTW how much does it weigh?

That P90 is a prefect fit with the finish, sick build man :headbang:.

Don't have it to the ounce, but unofficially, it's 7 lbs.  It's not that scientific though.  I don't have a kitchen scale, so I weigh myself with and without it on a digital bathroom scale that rounds in .5 lb increments.  For comparison, Jerry Garcia's brass hardwared WGD looking Alembic weighs 14 lbs and my chambered J basses weigh 9.5 lbs.  So not super light, but certainly not heavy.

This would drive me crazy!

But from the pictures I am liking the gold hardware! It looks great all put together.

I think for a guitar that already has a "loud" aesthetic, gold takes it over the top. chrome hardware always looks good, and it'll let the finish speak for itself.
what's bothering me is the black bridge pickup and cream neck pickup!

I thought long and hard about that too.  In the end, I chose the cream pickup cover because it was closer to the Ivoroid binding.  It's also not unusual to see a black Tele bridge pickup and white Strat pickup on a Nashville or hot-rodded Tele, or Chrome cover on a neck humbucker.  In other words, they don't always match.  I could've gone either way, Max helped me decide.  What was another tough decision was the switch tip.  I had a left over white and black one.  I ended up going with the black one, the white matched nothing.  And FWIW, this is the anti-STDC guitar.  On paper I should hate everything about it.  A gloss finish, flame maple top, gold hardware, rearrouted non-pickguarded fender shape, and a likeness to trademark Tele guy whose body of work, I'm not really that familiar with.  It's almost a satire like when Rivers Cuomo (Weezer) plays an EVH FrankenStrat or one of those Disney teeny booper's guitar player has a ZW Les Paul.  I do like camp.  I'm channeling my inner John Waters.

i get it. i don't think pickups always have to match, but in this case the first thing my eye goes to (particularly in the 2nd picture) is the black pickup that just looks off to me. they don't make tele pickups in other colors?

Is it skunk stripes that separates different pieces of wood, or is it pinstriped?

Both.  Skunk stripes are usually a contrasting wood on a neck back that is there as proof of a truss rod install.  This is Warmoth Pro neck, which doesn't have it because it has a separate neck and fretboard so the truss rod install is done before the 2 are glued together.  A few Fender afficionados have mad mention of this to me in the form of, "Hmm?  A Maple fretboard glued to a Maple neck."  The only Maple/Maple necks they're used to are the one piece design with skunk stripe.

Pinstriping is usually done as an aesthic between 2 pieces.  If thicker, I've also heard them called "runners" if on top.  This does have what I think is small Walnut pinstriping between the 3 pieces of Flame Maple on the top.  If I had to guess, I think it is there not so much for aesthetic but rather to set up a barrier to keep the dyes from running to the natural center when applying.  It's not visible in the pics, but there is the slighest bleedover on the red side.  Both Walnut stripes have absorbed the dyed colors.  The red side is red, the blue side is blue.

For comparison, I have the same P-90 in black as I'm modding a friend's Tele neck pickup to a P-90.  His is white with black pickguard.
