Has anyone built a Wolfgang replica or inspired by kind of thing? I'd really like to and I have a bunch of ideas. Just curious who else has been down this road.

warmoth used to build a body called the VW but legal issues with ernie ball killed it, it wasnt quite a music man and not quite a wolfgang. there was an carved top version that could pass as a wolfgang, but neither is available anymore, if you search ebay you may find one, also i understand that usacg has a similar model.

Ya, I had a moment of clarity and instead of searching the forum for wolfgangs I decided to search VW and There they were. There was some nice stuff. Man there are tons of really talented people on this forum. I love it!

Mine is actually a EBMM style, not the Wolgang, bit of a difference... :icon_biggrin:

I read somewhere that Warmoth still has the body shape programed into their CNC machine and all you have to do is ask them to make it... but i could be completely wrong with that.. doesn't hurt to give them a call.

i will tomorrow! pretty sure they'll say no since if they can't advertise it they can't risk having EB find out they'd still make it... but MAN i want one. i will be asking in the morning!

im absolutely sure that the program is still there but good luck getting them to make you one.. maybe and a big maybe if you happened to have a good friend that worked there it could get done under the table but i think the legal risk is too great, they may have changed there tune but i tried to make a custom order not knowing it was being cancelled and it wasnt finalized on time so i had to suck it up and gt a telecaster instead, it was literaly over night they said sure we can do that to oh no we can not make another one effective now. i should have snatched one off the showcase as there was a big sale to get rid of there inventory but nothing was quite what i wanted.

If you really want one you'd probably be better off to just contact one of the other makers to acquire one. I highly doubt W will make you one, even if they do still have the program. :dontknow:
