Braveheart II - the evil twin

Excellent!

A couple questions...

1. Is that some sort of press that's used to insert the bridge studs?  Can you talk about that?

2. I assume the grinder bit on the Dremel or whatever was being used to rough up the pots to ease soldering?  Can you verify?

3. Was your son doing some fret work prior to installation and is that required for all Warmoth necks?  What if they are finished; like a maple neck with a maple fretboard and clear gloss all over?

Thanks,
Ty

1) A simple drill press table with a solid shaft bit.
2) Yes, I rough up the back of the pots to have good metal contact to solder to.
3) I was teaching my son how to ball (round over) and buff the ends of the frets. Stainless steel fret ends are typically a tad bit hard cornered than their Nickel counterparts. This neck could have done without it but it was a good oppotunity for learning. It's all a matter of your personal preference; fret work is an artform. If there is a finish over the frets, you just have the added step of removing the finish from the crown of the entire fret length is all; not much more of a process.
