OK, so I have had a few irons in the fire.

First, I had my Spalted Soloist cookin', with a reverse pointy headstock.  It is not quite done, but here it is as of now:

soloprelim.jpg

It should be finished tomorrow (I hope).

I also had a WGD that I bought off E-bay a few months ago.  It is done, and here is the W site for it:  http://www.unofficialwarmoth.com/index.php?topic=4882.0

Finally, the first W I ever made got the neck that was originally planned for it today.  Pics to follow tomorrow, as my camera died today.  :tard:

WOW! Just WOW! :cool01: Hope you can bring the camera alive, Doc!  :laughing7: NEED MORE PICS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Very kick ass, i see the spalt darkened up just a tad as will mine. Even a clear finish has some darkening effect on the maple, especially in the softer spots...That just plain kicks ass in my book... :headbang1:

Thanks guys, there will be many more pictures tomorrow.  The battery is charging as we speak.  :icon_biggrin:

Aw, dam, i better do a fantastic finish on my soloist or it'll be put to shame by yours. :-\

BTW, dangerous, do either an explorer or KWS head shape fall into the points headed guitar category?

Cool, I'm thinking of a KWS

Superb spalt top  :icon_thumright:  It would appear you have a little bit of work (and a lot of fun) ahead of you

Thanks for all the kind words.  I should have this thing done this afternoon.  The battery for the camera has been charging overnight.  I'll post the specs when I post it in the finished section.

You noticed that, too.  It was a bit darker than I expected it would be, but it'll do.  :icon_biggrin:

Yip, found that out whilst doing some practice work with the leftover spalt pieces I got..If you look at raw flame maple it has naturally darker stripes in it already, those darker stripes seem to react to the filler or base coat (Warmoth uses a poly base coat on spalt) and turn darker. Even with clear epoxy, and clear super glue(CA) they still darken..But at the same time it also gives the flame more depth.
