Boatneck paired with a light body?

I have my eye on a few light Tele bodies in the 3.7 - 3.14 pound range. I also have my eye on a few Boatneck necks.

Would a Boatneck be too heavy for a light body? Throwing some tuners on it makes me a bit concerned it may make the guitar nose dive a bit. I assume the lightest neck wood would be Maple, but any other wood I should consider?

Thanks for your time, and I appreciate your insight.

Just assembled a light Thinline with a Fatback..... third one like tgat.  No issues!

Don't over think it.  Don't get dragged down over minutia.

Well ... this is my situation.
Of course, this is a 7/8 Tele body, so it’s slightly smaller, but then again, the neck is a 24” Mustang neck, so that’s smaller too. Proportionally I’d say this is like a typical Tele. Except that the body is light and the neck is heavy. So the neck dive issue is very real ...

I've got a boatneck on a 4lb body.  Locking tuners as well.  There is no neck dive; it's about as close to being balanced as anyone would like.

I'd say go for the boat and use ultra-lite tuners.

Thanks for this, it's exactly what I'm concerned about. Awesome looking guitar though!

Any recommendation on tuners? I've read about the Gotoh Stealth but they have a 8mm diameter, which appears to be too small for Warmoth necks.

Thanks.
It’s chambered alder, so pretty light. And the neck is bloodwood and really heavy.
You can read about it here.

I think some ordinary vintage type tuners, ie non locking, will suffice.
No need to go to extremes with the stealth ones.

I think other posters with the forum have previously shared that most necks are under two pounds in weight. Given that and the placement of the forward strap button on a tele style body and you should be OK. Roasted maple is a smidge lighter as a neck and a good, solid, strong neck. You can get various fretboard options with that as well.
