For the 1st time in my life I have some blushing when applying a finish.  I have had it slightly before but it has always gone away as the nitro cured.  This time it seems to be staying.  I do not have "blush" remover.

Should I:

--Sand??
--Let the cure more and hope it goes away?

I am not sure what caused it.  Humidity it low, temps are great at around 70.  I mixed everything the same.  What gives??

Moisture in the line? :dontknow:

nope...even checked it this morning.  It is not all over the finish.  I may have been in my technique?

Sanding or wishing it away won't help. Moisture got trapped below the skin of the finish. It was probably more humid than you thought when you shot it, or if not, then you may have shot it a little too heavy.

Quite often, and especially on fresh finishes, simply shooting a fresh coat of clear will get rid of the problem. It re-melts the surface and allows things to escape. Be sure to mix in about 5% or so of retarder, or you may exacerbate the problem. There are blush-clearing products available, but they can be tricky. Mis-applied, you can easily wreck the finish rather than repair it. There's a fine line between a lacquer finish and a lacquer remover.

Thanks everyone.  I think somthing was contaminated.  I went out and looked at my "mixer", a clear glass rod, and the finish was completely cloudy.

So a sanded and re-mixed, and re-shot.  Seems ok.  I think my mixing receptical, a fluted beer glass with marking must have been dirty.  Either that or it was to damp this morning at 7AM when I started.

I am letting this dry a bit.  Cross your fingers.
