Blue Flame

I really love this.. single Hum guitars always get me. only thing I would do is get some pointyness for the headstock!

I had the 720 mod done to my last body from the showcase????? it wasnt a problem at all.

THE NECK!!!!!!!!!!!!!

That's a guitar of the year contender right here

That's a beautiful piece of work! Good choices all around. You're going to be afraid to take it out and play it <grin>

The neck came outta the showcase, so couldn't choose the headstock...

The website says .720 mod is only available on custom build bodies not showcase items...but maybe they will do it if you ask...I just didn't bother cos I enjoy doing stuff like that, for the challenge. :rock-on:

I started by rasping flat patches behind the first and twelfth frets to within about 0.015" of the standard thin neck thickness. I left this extra thickness for sanding. I then lowered the rest of the length of the neck until I had a flat and level surface between the two points using the rasp and the block you can see with emery tape attached. Then I proceeded to reshape the contour down to the bottom edge of the fretboard and reshape around the scarf and heel using the same tools. The pictures don't really show the job step by step, just a couple of the milestones. By following this process you couldn't really go wrong and take off too much material or get low points on the shaft. The last two shots are with a sealer coat of polyurethane.

Wow, you dare ! Nice job !

But the thing I still don't understand is the color differences one can see near the headstock : are these 2 different pieces of wood ??? Looks like the flames don't match...
