Black to Cream

Since I am suddenly dealing with a different color body than I was expecting, I would like to turn my black P pickup housings cream. I assume normal spray paint will flake off, so what should I do to make it stick? And what type of paint should I look for?

I would try and buy creme covers.

Quarter Pounders have different sized polepieces though, so standard P pickup housings won't fit, and Seymour Duncan makes QP pickups in any color you want, so long as its black.

I guess you could drill, file, or sand them to the right size.

I think I'm going to hold off for a way to paint them.

For paint that will stick well to plastic look to the hobby industry. I used to use a paint by a company called "Pactra" that stuck very well to plastic. Don't know if cream would be available but you never know.

I've had good luck with Testors paints before in model building but I went over their website and none of their lines, including Pactra, have a nice cream color.

I got a $5 set of cream P covers on eBay and I'm going to try Max's idea of enlarging the holes 1/8".. wish me luck.
