I don’t remember if I had a finish put on the neck. I’ll need to find the build receipt. PH has a nice tight grain feel with little or no resistance. A gloss finish might effect that though.
I went to Rockler at Lunch today and picked up a piece of Purple Heart to experiment on. I'll start a new thread with findings instead of Hijacking @Spuds thread.
