Black Lable Society show in Saarbrucken Germany!

Very cool!  I see beers on stage.  Is he back to drinking again?  I know he had stopped cold turkey.  Something about blood clots in his legs from excessive altitude changes; flying.  All the alcohol wouldn't let the medication work.

Good Lord he has some ugly guitars--I'm looking at you, coffin guitar and SG/Flying V hybrid. And I wonder if anyone gets offended by his wearing that headdress...cuz that's the sort of thing we get offended about in Canada.  :laughing7:

At the start of the 1900's, James Frasier, a British psychologist, made a whole bunch of optical illusions that were concentric circles.  Some of them really mess with you head.  Those would be a cool paint job.  As far as his guitars, ah, no thanks.  A white Les Paul custom would be cool, but some of those things are a bit much.  However, at least he is not playing the reverse V.

The beer is non-alcoholic.  I was really impressed with all 4 members of BLS.  Really down to earth and funny guys.  When my son was getting some stuff signed they were joking around with him and actively engaging him in the conversation and during the show Nick (the other guitar player) remembered my son and shook his hand while he was playing.

Concerning the weird shapped guitars, I'd take any one of them without hesitation.

The first thing I though when I saw Zakk was "his eyes look almost... human!" I didn't know he'd had to quit... that guy used to have so many broken capillaries and such bloodshot eyes you barely noticed the yellow jaundice from the overloaded liver. He had sewed up this image of the drunken weightlifter, I'm glad he zigged instead of zagged. Van Halen, same thing - when even the writers (who have been know to tip a few) were talking about Eddie and Alex's perpetual Schlitz Malt cans glued to their paws, you know something's got to blow out eventually. But if they hadn't grown up drunks, they'd probably still be playing "The Girl from Ipanema" on a cruise ship.

I've been around drunks at home and in bars, he never struck me as the stereotypical drunk.  It seems he drinks because he liked it, not to numb the real world or hide from something.  It's like he'd finish his chores and get fit-shaced.  By all accounts, he's a stand up guy.  Married to his high school sweetheart, never heard any drug stories or seen a picture of him with a cigarette.  When he quit drinking, he probably didn't think that long or hard about it.  He's been Ozzy's principal song writer since his late teens until leaving.  Never one not to speak his mind about anything, he won't say one bad word about Ozzy.  You can talk about Jeff Beck playing with the enthusiasm of a teenager, always learning, he's never quite writing, recording, touring, performing in some form or fashion since the late 80s.  The EMG trebley distorted chorus lead sound may not be everyone's cup of tea, but I'll give him his props for not being human.
