Black Korina Tele build ongoing...

My neck was at the post office today  :headbang:...

I know the pics are lame, but should give an idea. Neck is standard/thin Goncalo Alvez with Wenge half scallop and SS frets. There's a few more bits on the way and this build will be done.

The scalloped part of the fretboard is kind of mesmerizing. I just sat here and stared at it for a while.

that neck looks awesome.  Love KORINA too.
I always wanted to play a scalloped neck..

Nice - my thought was the scalloped wenge looks like Damascus Steel.

I was considered going half-scalloped (and then full scalloped, if I liked the general idea enough) for a future build. This thread definitely helped.  :rock-on:

Thanks all for the comments - my wife made most of the specific wood selections and Warmoth is amazing for fit/finish. This is my 40 year old/20th anniversary guitar, and her name is Joutsen (Finn for Swan). I was worried about the Wenge scalloping but I think it came out reaaaal nice. From a distance it looks like ebony or dark rosewood, but up close lots of really pretty details. I've not played a scalloped neck before, but I do a lot of 1.5+ step bending up high on the fretboard and it is like buttah without any board to rub on. Also, it's much easier to control accidental noise from lower strings as getting under them is much easier. Again - thanks for the kind words. Once it's done, I'll use a better camera in better light because these pics don't do her justice at all.
