I just finished setting up my buddy Rob's tele over the weekend and got a chance to check out some Gotoh Locking Vintage tuners.
He dug the vintage vibe, but also wanted the practicality (plays out) of a locking tuner.
He also liked the way they were height adjustable, and he thought he could get away without a string tee.
They have a clever way of making the adjustment.

Another piece, the piece you can see, screws on top of that.  The black screw adjusts the height.
You can even get to it from the back with a hex key, note the hole on the back.

I thought they were pretty cool.

I rolled the hell out of the edge, pao ferro is pretty tuff.  I actually had to hit it first with a file rather lightly to "get it goin'."
Then I think 220, then 320.  In sanding back the nitro, it then got 600, 1,000, and misc. microfibers.

Plenty smooth now.

Here it is strung up, ready to go back to Rob.

I think he has a Lace Sensor dually planned for the neck.
I thought it played fantastic and really gave that 3 piece MIM body a new lease on life.
I really didn't miss the tee.  It rang like a bell.
I want a tele now. :guitaristgif:

I've used a set of Gotoh non locking "Kluson style" tuners before and had no complaints.  Those look like pretty nice though.

They'd also look great on your Tele too.  :evil4:

Yea, those carved top teles are looking pretty cool right about now.
Glad to see Warmoth making them.

I've been raving about these tuners too, I have some and will definitely use them again.
