Well after awhile of checking out warmoths products and reading this forum I pulled the trigger on a Showcase Birds Eye Maple neck with rosewood finger board. Now I am going to need to finish it from what I read. It appears I'm going to have to finish the Birds Eye so it doesn't warp but I'm wondering about the Brazilian Rosewood finger board do I finish that also or tape over it and  leave it be? Thanks for helping out a newbie!

Rosewood requires no finish, as its naturally oily. It feels and sounds fantastic naked, especially Brazilian which is the nicest stuff available.

The maple will need to be finished, but please for the love of whatever do not finish Brazilian rosewood.

You can use Tung Oil on the birdseye. It gives a beautiful satin finish that your hand will just glide over.

It won't validate your warranty through Warmoth, though. It has to be a hard finish.
