I got the wiring diagram and parts list sent to me by fender. its an interesting little beast. the diagram is not all that detailed, so let me try to explain this the best that I can.
the guitar incorporates 3 SC sized humbuckers and uses a super switch. the switching is as follows:
1: full bridge
2: full middle inside bridge
3: full middle
4: full middle outside neck
5. full neck
the tone controls are only for the neck and bridge pickups.
the part I'm having trouble deciphering from the diagram is the cap/resistor wiring for the tone controls. the parts list says it uses both .02mfd and .100uf caps, and 4.7k 1/4w resistors.
these appear to all be on the tone pots. both pots are wired the same, just leading to different terminals on the super switch. the third terminal is wired to the switch as well as a cap jumping to the 2nd terminal, however it makes no distinction to which cap this is. the first terminal then appears to have a cap then soldered to a resistor, then to ground. is this a common practice and what is the purpose of this?
i hope this was even remotely clear. i can include a picture of the diagram if you need it. any help would be awesome. thanks!
