While we're on the subject, the OED says that "googol (and googolplex) are fanciful words, not found in technical use" because they were arbitrarily formed. That said, I'm not sure what else you would call 10100 (or 10googol for that matter). And fwiw, it is acceptable to use "google" as a verb, i.e "I was up all night googling pictures of exotic wood-topped guitars!"  :laughing7:

makes sense, it seems odd to me to name a number where the number of zeros is not a multiple of 3. it seems to defy our normal format system. there is no real reason to name it either, just say 10 to the power of 100. or write 10^100. also googol being a number greater than the estimated number of protons in the universe i dont know of any practical use outside of theoretical mathomatics or something.
on a side note i saw one site that listed googoltriplex and googolplexplexplexplex as numbers what ever that means.

It does kinda grow on you. It took me a while to warm up to it, but it's a great feeling shape. I felt the same way years ago about the EVH EBMM sig, but after playing one I knew I had to have one... :headbang1:
