The amp has been bought (by me) and I also got a MXR smartgate, whoop!

I was hoping to use my dead MG as a cab, the ohms match, but the wattage doesn't, unless I use the triode setting on the amp, although even that could be too powerful.

Good stuff Conor,  :rock-on:
Thanks, mate.
It gets here on Sunday.  :blob7:

Ae you deaf yet??????  :icon_biggrin:

Pretty much. It was delayed by a day, but that gave me time to run in my newly serviced bike on Sunday :hello2:

This afternoon, I took it over to my friends place and plugged it into his Marshall quadbox. My mind was blown. It is an awesome amp, especially for the price. Super freakin' crunchy when cranked up. It really does need it's mid boost switch turned on, or it gets a bit muddy, but wow, it sure gives a thump. The clean channel is nice and 'jangly' too. I played it for about half an hour, not realising it was on the triode mode, so then I slapped myself in the face, then switched it to pentode. Bam.  :party07:

'tis niiiice.  :toothy10: Gonna try and hook it up to my MG speaker tonight.

Done.
I wired up my dead MG's speaker so now it's a 1x10 cab, but I can only use it with the amps triode/pentode switch set to triode. Bedroom level volumes can be achieved with the lead channel, but only just!
I can't get over how fantastic the clean channel sounds (although I won't be using it much, ha) it seems any setting is just wonderful! I can't get my guitar (not my warmoth) out of it's split neck pickup setting because the sound is soo addictive. The reverb is growing on me too, although that's just while it's in use in my bedroom.
While I was over at my friends place, I found that I did need to use the EQ pedal, but not to scoop the mids or give the highs a boost and bump up the bass, but quite the opposite. The amp is plenty bassy, and pretty tight sounding too. I actually used my EQ to boost the mids to get some extra crunch (I think I really just needed a different frequency range of mids). The amp can give some shrill tones, but it's all very controllable.

Oh, and did I mention; It's Loud.

My ears had had enough torture this weekend, first my bike (which finally came back from the shop after about 2 months) and now this beast.

Pics when my phone decides that it can save some onto my memory card.

Edit: Just wait till after the holidays, I might just be sporting some eminence 12's

Hey Connor

Might I suggest you measure up the MG's amp space, and see if later on, when finances recover and you are in a position, to look at getting a Ceriatone amp to fit in there. Or get the MG repaired if it's worth it. OR if you don't want another amp in that spot, see if it is wide enough to take a rack space? Bugera looks great...

That's a great Idea! I'll be working solidly over the holidays (that doesn't make sense!) so I may have some finances together for either some better speakers or a ceriatone. The MG is definitely NOT worth repairing.
