Bazz Fuss stupid question

Hey guys, sorry for this post, but for some reason this is stumping me.  I know this really isn't the best place to ask a question like this, but I know a few of you are into this, and a slim chance of an answer is better than none lol.

In the schematic for the Bazz Fuss, Beavis Audio suggests that you can make the diode switchable - take it out of the circuit, and it becomes a dirty boost; put it back in, it becomes the fuzz.

But I'm not understanding how exactly to do this.  I've drawn up (extremely crudely) what seems to me to be the solution, but it is not working.  The boost part of the circuit works, but the fuzz does not.

I realize this is probably a ridiculous question, but I really need help.  What is the schematic SUPPOSED to look like with this switch?

I'm guessing you need a double throw switch so you're bypassing the diode not just switching it open circuit. ..

Maybe wait for someone who isn't guessing to chime in though.

Just like you've drawn is fine.  SPST will work just fine in this application.

Get ready for a big change in gain when you put the switch in "non-fuzz" mode.
