Bats: Two Kinds

Living in California, I've never seen a bat in my life, aside from at the zoo. :blob7:

Really? Huh.  I've seen several in Central Cali.  I don't see any around my house, but that's most likely because of my cat.

Hate bats. Ours are called 'flying foxes' - big muthas. Congregate in trees in groups and their droppings and urine smells out the place. Can be seen at sunrise and sunset over the Sydney skyline in flocks, heading out to ripe trees. Some can get a little cheeky and fly very close to you.

In Australia, I guess the cricket bat would replace the whiffle bat ( or a 12 guage shotgun!).

Yeah, I'm in Melbourne, and I get fruit bats in the trees in my backyard. Man are they big, they drive my labrador crazy.

My house is very old and it's occasionally invaded by small furry critters.  My cat kills them and leaves them on my bed for me :-\

The rest of the time she just chases the spiders.  We have lots of spiders.

That reminds me of a story with a frog. My mom was complaining about being kept up at night by a croaking frog coming from the back yard, so she sent me to investigate. I took one step outside in my boots, heard a "crunch," and that was that. I'm just glad i didn't go out there barefoot.
