@ DangerousR6: Yeah, the guy makes and sells guitar bodies on ebay...looks like quality work, but we'll see when mine gets here. He doesn't currently have anything listed, but here's a link to his ebay page if you want to check back later. http://myworld.ebay.com/avengers63/.
Couple other bodies he's made/sold in the last few months:
two-piece solid Ash body, topped with Aqua Boomerang Formica, then bound in white:
Yellowheart core and Sapele wings capped with Purpleheart and a Yellowheart pinstripe:
@ Patrick: The stuff I have is 100% pure tung oil from Woodcraft. From what I can gather from searching the boards I need to use grain filler on the swamp ash in order to get a smooth finish, right? Can I just apply the tung oil over the grain filler? Also, I'm thinking I might want to dye the swamp ash black, then sand it back a bit so the grain stays dark black and fades to a slightly lighter, grey-ish color...kind of similar to Metalman22105's flamed maple/black korina VIP seen here.
Any advice/tips are greatly apprieciated.
