so, I'm looking for a pickup that can do a neck mudbucker type sound. I'm not too familiar with pickups, honestly, and I was hoping someone here could tip me off to some pickups or pickup makers that could do a super deep, woofy sound like what you would normally get from an EB-0, but in the shape of a soapbar, or something like that. also, maybe someone that could make a bridge humbucker that could do what my X2N-7 does.....essentially almost a MM type bark, but also somewhat of a Rickenbacker/Jazz Bass bridge pickup clarity to it, but again, in a soapbar/or something type configuration.

No one has answered this, so here goes.

If I was trying to replicate an EB-0's sound, I'd start with a 30" scale with a lot of mahogany in the build.  My first choice in a neck pickup would be to use a TV Jones Thunder’Mag.  I believe that the Thunder’Mag is available in a soap bar configuration.

Shees, I need to go to CAPTCHA School.

I don't think you're going to get an EB-0 vibe in a soapbar, since the pickup is so much larger than what will fit in any soapbar casing. That being said, when you get as far up to the neck as those pickups are typically placed, getting the specs right becomes less important. I would still opt for something in a MM casing, though.

Everybody loved the Hammon Dark Star pickup - then the owner got spacy, then he disappeared. Then Lakland contracted with Hanson pickups to make the Chi-Sonics, which garner mixed love. It all goes back to the Jorma Kaukonen, Phil Lesh, Berry Oakley Hagstrom pickups, back when bass was BASS.
