Barnyard bass going in for final assembly tomorrow

Since I'm not good with tools and trust the hands at my local shop, I'm passing on the buildup like an ackward question at a party.  I will however have a drink to the final look/feel/smell of the fine wood that I've built up.. with various stains, fillers, pigments and oils and months.  Here are some pics before the guitar shop cast get to it.  When it's done I will enter the GOTM thing.

You wouldn't consider doing a little bit of the assembly yourself, like the electronics? The 1 pickup, volume & tone pot set up is pretty simple and a good point to start at. And if you stuff up a capacitor or a pot they are reasonable cheap to replace...

Ahhhh looks like you are gonna be needing that walnut back cover pretty darn soon!!!!!  While your bass is at the Lute's place, why don't you send me your plastic cover and I'll get started, so you can just put your walnut cover on from the get-go!!  PM me for my address!!  I have the walnut right now, but I might not in a month or so, I have some irons in the fire, so get that cover to me!!!!

And that bass is looking superb I must say!!!!

I know what you mean and really it's going to better hands than mine.  If I were to mis-align a tuner screw, or cold solder a contact, miss the intricacies of ferule installation, or get that black shielding paint all over, it's really a bummer...  Lukily I'm less than a mile from this guy Gary Brawer, you should check them out on the interweb thing, there's a blog.  Here's a pic of the guys in action.  I see it like this: we know what we need help with.  Take the guitar, and the realize our vision without compromising quality.  Yes, finally I got that out.
